John White was a country and western singer who recorded during the 1920s and 1930s. He performed on radio’s early adventure series, “Death Valley Days.” In retirement, he became a writer, and is the author of Git Along, Little Dogies — Songs and Songmakers of the American West, published by the University of Illinois Press. See Wikipedia for a few more details and The Los Angeles Times for his obituary.
John White does a pleasant job with “Whoopee Ti Yi Yo Git Along Little Doggies.” His “yip” in the chorus is perfect.
