The Natural Seven is the name of an album by saxophonist Al Cohn, which was recorded in 1955 for RCA Victor. Personnel: Al Cohn, tenor saxophone; Joe Newman, trumpet; Frank Rehak, trombone; Nat Pierce, piano; Freddie Green, guitar; Milt Hinton, bass; and Osie Johnson, drums and vocal. Manny Albam is credited as arranger on tracks 1, 3, 8 and 12; Al Cohn on tracks 4-7 and 9-11; and Ernie Wilkins on track 2. Freddie Green also played on Count Basie’s “Kansas City Seven” recordings.
