These are recordings by Edward Mullaney on the uilleann pipes and Patrick Stack on violin. Both men were of Irish ancestry — it could be that one or both were born in Ireland and later emigrated to the United States. For a detailed description both of the style of music these performers play and their biographies, see The Happy Hooligan.
These recordings are old. Their lyrics reflect the attitudes, perspectives and beliefs of past generations.
